HP art

Hmm, just uploaded some HP scibbles from my sketchbook.

Two pics under cut. :D

(And also, it seems an art rant made it's way under there as well.)

Harry with a pimp jacket. Done fully in ink so uh, many mistakes. *shifty eyes*

THIS LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER IN REAL LIFE. *slumps* Like, the yellow makes it glow and ahhh gawd, it looks great in RL. I drew it in art class, and I was so proud of myself--then my art teacher comes over and says it's bad. Very bad and looks like manga. I protest--and she takes back the manga comment and says instead that it sucks because apparrently, all my semi-realism looks the same. Cue two days of angsting and worrying and fingernail biting and sinking feelings of DOOM.

And then I realised, you know what? Screw her. >.>;

In other words. The pic is meant to be a young Mad-eye Moody. Ya'know, when he was all HAWT and stuff. *watches as people defriend her* Mwoohahaha.

Gah, even though I'm doing the 'rebel against the art teacher thingy' I'm still feeling very drained and negative towards my art. She's nit-picked at things that have nothing to do with the overall picture and just made me feel horrible. I should stop trying to please her--because in the end I always feel awful about what I've drawn.

I don't know what her problem is, but my art is still too 'manga-ish' for her. People may argue that she's being hard on me so I can be all I can be and all that rubbish--but then I get those people to meet her and they realise, that no. She's just a loon.

I've been through all this crap with her before, and I'll get my footing again. I can be very very stubborn about what I draw. Because in the end I'm drawing for me, and not for her.

Just though, the really annoying thing is? I know that I can draw, but she always makes me feel like my art is rubbish.

And yeah. Sorry about the rant. *sidles away*

Man, if only harry would wear a coat like that IRL :P
Meanwhile, prehaps your teacher is just picking on you because you like manga and want to be a mnaga artist and she, in particular, doesn't like them or respect thier work.

Harry would rock in that coat. :D *eyes his obese dudley clothing*

My teacher did that whole 'omgyourmangamustDIE' to me last year. I haven't been drawing manga in class, she's just picking on my semi-realism style. *grumbles*

Uh... I don't see what about the second pic is 'mangaish'. O.o But yeah... it sounds like the teacher might have a prejudice against the style. ~_~
I think both pictures are just wonderful, you did a great job. *hugs*

Glad you liked them. *hugs back*

And dude, like. The battles I had with her last year over manga. They were legendary. *grins*

Second picture isn't manga-ish AT ALL, I dunno what you're teacher's on about. Personally, I LOVE it, the colors look fantastic and coloring like that is something I've never quite been able to figure out... As the first commenter said, a lot of people are 'prejudiced' against manga artists, they don't think manga is a valid art form, etc. Bah.

Harry: "Come hither!"

I would so shag him there. ;)

Mmkay, for the second pic--I picked up random pencils and scribbled. You should try it! The colours I used were: Light yellow, purple, light green, light brown and dark brown. Just start scribbling and shade with the different colours at random. :D It's alot of fun.

And. Eheheheh. Everybody wants to shag Harry, but no one wants to shag Moody. What is wrong with this world? *beweildered*

Oh, okay. I think I can probably handle random scribbling. Though I have a feeling my colorpencils conspire against me when I'm not in the room-- "Okay guys, this one's gonna be REALLY funny. How about... next time she uses us, EVERY SINGLE PENCIL POINT SHE USES WILL BREAK! Brilliant, eh?"

I suppose I could shag Moody too, just to even things up. ;]

Great drawings. I like that colorful one. At first glance I didn't really but then as I stare at it some more it grew on me ^o^

BUt I do have to add that I loove that Harry one! Even though I havn't been sucked into the craze and have not a clue as to what it's about other than he's in some school for wizards XD

*grins* Glad you liked.

And dude, if you ever have the time-- pick up a one of the books. It's a fun read and the fandom is a really great place to be. :D

Ah, I like both! Love the colors in the bottom one. I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets giddy joy from crazy colors.

And your art teacher is redonkulous. My art teach doesn't particularly like manga art either, but she doesn't have any problem if that's what you want to do. Generally all she critiques on is technique, shading, ect. 'Course, I lean towards surrealism and stuffers in school anyway, but jeez! That's like ripping on someone for drawing in any sort of style.

they´re great! I <3 pimp!harry ^^
and I know the feeling, my art teacher keeps bitching at me for stuff that (in my opinion) is already pretty damn good while the people next to me draw stick figures and get a B for it...but I guess it helps me improve in a way...just gets a bit annoying...
but thankfully I have a different teacher next year, and a small class *yay*

I wasn't sure about the second one at first. Now I keep looking at it and going 'OMGIT'SONEOFTHEMEDICISZOMG!!!' Which .... is raising all sorts of weird theories about Mad-Eye in my head ...... O.o

And! *hearts Harry*

I don't know much about art, but I have to say that I don't see any manga influence in this! I'll say that I like some of your other pieces better, but that's because these seem to not be as intensely emotional as the others I've looked at.

And yeah, criticism is hard to deal with at times, especially when you don't quite understand what the critic is seeing as wrong! :-P

Oh woah, this stuff is old. *averts eyes* I've been intensifying the amount I draw lately--I'm slowly trying to improve everything, and these are the first few sketches from when I was moving away from manga style.

*hides them* They're old and scary. XD
