Two pics under cut. :D
(And also, it seems an art rant made it's way under there as well.)

Harry with a pimp jacket. Done fully in ink so uh, many mistakes. *shifty eyes*

THIS LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER IN REAL LIFE. *slumps* Like, the yellow makes it glow and ahhh gawd, it looks great in RL. I drew it in art class, and I was so proud of myself--then my art teacher comes over and says it's bad. Very bad and looks like manga. I protest--and she takes back the manga comment and says instead that it sucks because apparrently, all my semi-realism looks the same. Cue two days of angsting and worrying and fingernail biting and sinking feelings of DOOM.
And then I realised, you know what? Screw her. >.>;
In other words. The pic is meant to be a young Mad-eye Moody. Ya'know, when he was all HAWT and stuff. *watches as people defriend her* Mwoohahaha.
Gah, even though I'm doing the 'rebel against the art teacher thingy' I'm still feeling very drained and negative towards my art. She's nit-picked at things that have nothing to do with the overall picture and just made me feel horrible. I should stop trying to please her--because in the end I always feel awful about what I've drawn.
I don't know what her problem is, but my art is still too 'manga-ish' for her. People may argue that she's being hard on me so I can be all I can be and all that rubbish--but then I get those people to meet her and they realise, that no. She's just a loon.
I've been through all this crap with her before, and I'll get my footing again. I can be very very stubborn about what I draw. Because in the end I'm drawing for me, and not for her.
Just though, the really annoying thing is? I know that I can draw, but she always makes me feel like my art is rubbish.
And yeah. Sorry about the rant. *sidles away*

Meanwhile, prehaps your teacher is just picking on you because you like manga and want to be a mnaga artist and she, in particular, doesn't like them or respect thier work.

My teacher did that whole 'omgyourmangamustDIE' to me last year. I haven't been drawing manga in class, she's just picking on my semi-realism style. *grumbles*

And dude, like. The battles I had with her last year over manga. They were legendary. *grins*

Harry: "Come hither!"
I would so shag him there. ;)

And. Eheheheh. Everybody wants to shag Harry, but no one wants to shag Moody. What is wrong with this world? *beweildered*

I suppose I could shag Moody too, just to even things up. ;]

And your art teacher is redonkulous. My art teach doesn't particularly like manga art either, but she doesn't have any problem if that's what you want to do. Generally all she critiques on is technique, shading, ect. 'Course, I lean towards surrealism and stuffers in school anyway, but jeez! That's like ripping on someone for drawing in any sort of style.

and I know the feeling, my art teacher keeps bitching at me for stuff that (in my opinion) is already pretty damn good while the people next to me draw stick figures and get a B for it...but I guess it helps me improve in a way...just gets a bit annoying...
but thankfully I have a different teacher next year, and a small class *yay*

And yeah, criticism is hard to deal with at times, especially when you don't quite understand what the critic is seeing as wrong! :-P
